Fillings

Today, dentists have a variety of materials available to them for use in the repair of damaged, decayed, or worn teeth. From traditional metals, to tooth colored composite, Dr. Kujak will work with you to select the materials that best fit your dental need.

Composite fillings are made from resins that are matched to your tooth’s color – so they become invisible when applied. Composite fillings provide durability and resistance to fracture as well as looking like a natural tooth.

Tooth Extractions

At Main Street Dental, we always make every attempt to treat your teeth and remedy any dental malady. Unfortunately, in some cases damage to teeth is in so advanced a stage that it may be necessary to extract the tooth in order to maintain optimum dental health. Our commitment is to provide the highest quality of dental care for our patients, and we want to do the same for you.

Endodontics and Root Canal Treatment

Root canals allow the dentist to remove the nerve, clean the canal and seal the tooth. Effectively protecting and saving the tooth. After an opening is created through the crown of the tooth into the dental pulp chamber, the nerve is removed. The canal is cleaned out, and the pulp chamber is permanently filled. The dentist will proceed by putting in a temporary filling.  Afterwards, the temporary filling will be replaced with a permanent filling or a crown, depending on the location of the tooth within the mouth.

Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a tooth shaped “cap” comprised of gold or porcelain that completely covers the tooth. A part of your tooth remains but is essentially “rebuilt” to resemble the original tooth. Dr. Kujak may recommend a crown in the following situations:

• Have your broken tooth restored to its original size and shape
• Supply additional strength for a compromised tooth
• To cover a dental implant
• Improve the general appearance of your tooth

CEREC® Same Day Crowns
Are you short on time? We now offer CEREC® restorations! CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a revolutionary system that allows dentist’s to design, create and fit a new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay in a single visit. This procedure would normally take up to three weeks.

How CEREC Technology Works
Dr. Kujak will prepare your tooth in the normal fashion before fitting a crown or a veneer. At this point, instead of using dental putty to take an impression of your tooth, he will take a digital picture using the CEREC camera. Using CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, the CEREC software converts this picture to a 3-D virtual model of your prepared tooth. This image is used as a guide to design your new restoration.

Once Dr. Kujak is happy with the virtual tooth, the data is sent to an on-site CEREC milling unit, which fabricates your new tooth from a high-quality ceramic block. These blocks come in a wide variety of shades and colors and are selected to match your surrounding teeth. The process usually takes 45 to 90 minutes depending on the type of ceramic used. After the milling is finished, Dr. Kujak will polish the filling or crown and bond it into place in your mouth.

Dental Implants
If you have lost or missing teeth you may wish to consider a dental implant. A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is usually made out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth is missing.

Whether your missing tooth is the result of periodontitis, tooth decay or an injury, Dr. Kujak can help restore your smile with a beautiful new dental implant that looks and functions just like a real tooth. Implants can be placed for a single tooth, multiple teeth, and can also aid in the retention of dentures. Dentures (Full vs. Partial)

When it becomes necessary to have all your teeth removed, complete or full dentures may be necessary.  Having complete dentures will help with chewing as well as supporting one’s facial structure and improving speech.

Sometimes, complete dentures are not necessary. Partial dentures can replace a string of missing teeth, which are secured to your remaining teeth with clasps. No matter which kind of dentures you choose, you can be assured to receive natural-looking dentures that match your facial structure and desired tooth color.
